Meet the ladies behind À Lala Carte, sisters Laura & Ellie.

Food has always been a big part of both our lives, and so many fond memories are tied to the meals we’ve shared with loved ones. The women in our family made their meals from scratch, so it was only natural for us both to be curious about cooking and have a desire to learn from them. On our dad’s side of the family, we were exposed to the comforting flavors of Southern cooking, and on our mother’s side, we enjoyed the simple yet robust flavors of Italian cuisine. We love creating in the kitchen together and find joy in sharing it with others.

Since graduating from college, Laura’s love and passion for food has grown. In 2012 Laura moved to Charlotte, NC for her job where she was exposed to an abundance of fresh produce at the local farmer’s markets. She embraced these fresh ingredients, which inspired her to experiment with new dishes. Laura started sharing her food creations online and generated a good deal of interest, further pushing her to follow her dream. In spring of 2021, Ellie said to Laura, “Let’s see what happens if we post an offer on social media to make Mother’s Day coffee cakes.” Needless to say, enough coffee cakes were sold that it became clear that the sisters needed to share their love and passion for food with others. A few short months later, coffee cakes turned into charcuterie boards, charcuterie boards turned into full custom meals, and thus A Lala Carte was born.

Laura and her husband Andy currently live in Pleasant Ridge, with their three kids and dog. Their love started in the kitchen where they continue to push each other to develop. Laura also enjoys learning about nutrition and incorporating that knowledge into the food she makes for her family and friends. All her food is made from scratch without any ingredients she can’t pronounce or read. In her free time, Laura loves going to concerts, drinking a good glass of red wine, spending time with her family, and traveling to visit friends.

Ellie and her husband Jeff reside in Anderson Township and consider themselves a modern-day “Brady Bunch,” raising five kids and two pups together. Ellie also owns a Princess Company called All American Princess and enjoys being a part of Crossroads Eastside. She watches (and spoils) Laura's children on a regular basis and loves spending time with friends and family in her free time.

À LaLa Carte is based in Cincinnati, Ohio.
